It's an ex fire brigade vehicle, but besides that it is a bit overpriced. Good W124s a rising again, especially the wagons, but € 2500 (which is what they are probably tryin to get) seems a bit steep for a decomissioned car which will have tons of holes in the dash. They have a niche market of enthusiasts who love them for their liveries, low miles, and perfect service histories, but it is just that, a niche.
BTW, on the green one the sunroof isn't working and the seller mentions "rust in the usual areas".
Let me know if I can be of any assistance in your car search.

you bet! Yeah those 124's have the rust in the arches and under the body cladding. The good thing is is there are a ton of junk 124's over here for metal and parts needs. I just want all the euro stuff we could never get in a complete package. And a complete decent green cloth interior, maybe blue on blue.

manual climate control
As in: decent manual heater, but no AC from the factory? Because that's how most were sold here. A good friend of mine had a 1986 w124 200d until earlier this year. It had interesting options like a power passenger side mirror and a manual driver side one. 4 speed manual.

yeah the a/c never being in place is fine by me. I live in maine so I usually dont need it but a few days out of the year. Though the a/c on the 124's was fairly robust in the components.
